Peter Long is a singer, songwriter, sound artist and educator based in northern New South Wales, Australia. His music, which has been described as 'eerie spacious pop-rock with a lot of heart' stems from an interest in guitar-based popular music, psychedelic rock and soundscapes that has run as a through-line throughout his music career.
Possessing 'an unerring sense of the perfect pop melody', his debut solo album Midday Sun and the song 'Melody's Fate' won Best Alternative Release at the Blue Mountains Music Awards in 2007. He performs with psychedelic ensemble Paper Sun, the Brit-pop duo The Winstons and is a member of the infamous mens acapella group The Spooky Mens Chorale. He also releases experimental soundscape work under the alias of immed8.
Peter is a music academic and multi-skilled creative, teaching as a sessional academic and conducting private music instrumental tuition at his studio Abbey Street Music. Find out more on the Services page.

| 'Throughout, it's obvious Long has a solid hold of his material and a focus to match, realising each song with such an eye for detail the whole thing just shimmers in your ears...'
Michael Smith, The Drum Media
'His arrangements have an almost transcendental aura about them. Breezy choruses, fuzzy guitars and reverb-assisted psychedelic swirls recall a '60's vibe (with) a touch of modern, edgy indieness.'
Paul Smith, Sydney Morning Herald
'One minute you're wondering what you're going to have for lunch, the next your mind has been hijacked away to childhood imaginings of cities in the clouds... it's transcendant stuff.'
Robyn Jarman, Stix Magazine
' Imagine The Beatles, Radiohead, Pink Floyd and Air having a jam... it's a kind of eerie spacious pop-rock with a lot of heart.'
Daniel Holdsworth, Stix Magazine
